Letter written to Mr T B Phillips, Pelotas from Joao Fransisco Froes at Liverpool, dated 7 June 1851

Description

Informed Thomas Benbow Phillips that 13 Welsh people had sailed on the “Naiad”, including David Davies, a farmer, and his family. He hoped that the land that had been promised to him would be ready and suitable for his crops of wheat because he had heard otherwise. He would like Thomas Benbow Phillips to see David Davies on his arrival.

30 more Welsh were sailing on the “Irene”, including 7 different families and he hoped that they would have placements in the settlement before their arrival. J F Froes wished to be informed of the arrangements. He informed Thomas Benbow Phillips that his parents were sailing on the “Irene”.
