Letter written to Thomas Benbow Phillips at Pelotas, by Christopher James of James & Co of Rio Grande do Sul, dated 12 February 1868.

Christopher James thanked Thomas Benbow Phillips for the letter dated the previous day, stating that he was glad to hear that his son's finger was healing, and that he would soon be receiving a letter from him, as promised. Christopher James stated that the petition to Cangassee had to be signed and sent to “some friend” there. He was enclosing a parcel of newspapers from San Pedro, and sent his regards to the family.
