Letter written to Thomas Benbow Phillips at Pelotas by Christopher James of James & Co of Rio Grande de Sul, written from Rio Grande do Sul, dated 13 April 1868.

Christopher James said that his wife had been busy preparing for the ball, did not have time to visit friends and very nearly got left behind. Mr Lefebre had received the butter during the James's absence, and he enclosed 6 milreis as payment. Mrs James sent regards to her friends and would visit soon when she went to Pelotas.
