Letter written to Thomas Benbow Phillips at Pelotas by Christopher James at Rio Grande do Sul, dated 20 April, 1868.

Christopher James informed Thomas Benbow Phillips that they had a pleasant voyage of three hours. There were two families on board with whom he was acquainted. They had brought cold turkeys, fowls and roast beef and shared them for breakfast with Christopher James and family. He reported the butter had arrived and was very good. Payment was enclosed.
