Letter written to Captain J G Evans on the Brig “Rush” by Stuart Barnes at Calle Reconquista 72, Buenos Aires, dated 22 March 1873
Stuart Barnes informed Captain Evans that he had received the two favours of 10 March by Captain Cox. He had also sent full Power of Attorney to Thomas Benbow Phillips to act for the owners of the “Rush”, and Captain Evans was to take orders and instrucions from Thomas Benbow Phillips. All monies and produce received from passengers or freight, as well as accounts, bills etc and the ship's papers connected with the present voyage were to be given to Thomas Benbow Phillips. The vessel was to be brought to Buenos Aires as soon as possible, and Captain Evans to report immediately to Stuart Barnes.
