Copy of a certificate issued to Captain Walter about the accounts of the “Beautiful Star” of Dundee by Thomas Benbow Phillips, at Rio Grande, dated 14 January 1874

Thomas Benbow Phillips had investigated the accounts of the “Beautiful Star” of Dundee and could not find that Captain Walter had any claim against the vessel, and he personally was not authorised by the late owner, Captain Dunn to make any payment to Captain Walter, Thomas Benbow Phillips therefore refused to make any payment whatsoever to Captain Walter on account of the above mentioned vessel. He gave the certificate at the request of Captain Walter.
