Copy of a letter written to Joseph Gibson, Esq, at Dundee by Thomas Benbow Phillips at Rio Grande, dated 18 February, 1874

Enclosed was a second Bill of Exchange on the London & Brazilian Bank for £187-12-0. The first one had been sent by steamer on 2 February, along with the documents referring to the “Beautiful Star”. Thomas Benbow Phillips hoped that Joseph Gibson would find everything satisfactory.
