Jean's son and niece in their back garden on Dart Road. The picture was taken soon after Jean moved into the house. In the early years of the estate there were no proper fences, only wire. Some residents took the wire down so that children wouldn’t trip over when going between neighbour's back gardens. Because these were council houses residents had to get permission to make changes, including putting up the garden shed that is in the background of this picture.
