1978 breakthrough just before peninsula became island

River Rhymney ox bow. Old bank marked by brambles, colonisation at two levels. Lateral mud slumped and grassed. Bed still stirred up at high water and only sparse Aster, not 5ft tall as on stabler bank. 27/10/1982
