Mary was a keen photographer of the Glamorganshire Canal. This location on the River Taff close to its junction with the Taff Bargoed River at Quaker's Yard was once occupied by a weir which diverted water into the Upper Feeder and into the canal at the tail end of lock 21 on the Abercynon flight of locks.
