Nuclear Free Gwynedd Banner, 1980

Description

Made by Hilary J Davies and her daughters of Penrhyndeudraeth CND(c.1980). The banner was used on anti weapons rallies but actually made for a 'mark the route' protest against the transportation of nuclear waste from a nearby nuclear power station.

The banner is made from an old nylon sheet chosen for washability as it was intended for frequent use. Purple was chosen because this shows up well on colour T.V.
