Description

Canal bed, view north, now used for logging machineryThe Glamorganshire Canal at Cilfynydd. This section was subject to a coal waste subsidence in 1939 when 180,000 tons of slurry slid down the hillside blocking the canal, the Merthyr to Cardiff Road, the Taff Vale Railway and diverted the River Taff.
