Description

A letter containing a copy the resolutions passed by a meeting of parishoners of the parish of Llanelli, held on Mynydd Sylen, 17 August 1843. The meeting was chaired by William Chambers and was held in protest against the payment of a higher rate of tithe to Rees Goring Thomas, Llysnewydd. Also included is a copy of the resolutions passed at a meeting of the parishoners of Llanelli held at Llanelli Town Hall on 31 August 1843. The letter also contains details of the attack by followers of Rebecca on Gelliwernen farm, Llan-non, the home of John Edwards, agent to Rees Goring Thomas.
