The poet I. D. Hooson (1880-1948) was born at Rhosllannerchrugog. He trained as a solicitor and worked at Wrexham. He began writing poetry at a young age but published the majority of his work during the 1930s. His poems remain extremely popular as recitation pieces, particularly among children.
