Description

In this letter, dated 21 September 1882, Florence Nightingale [F.N.] says that she has sent to London for 'books' 'information' and 'advice' and hopes to be of use 'in the terrible Bangor epidemic'. She thanks William Rathbone for the 'beautiful flowering plants' and expresses 'Joy that the war in Egypt is over'. She has been told that the soldiers, 'thanks to sobriety and plenty to do, have actually been more healthy than in England'. She explains that 'we sent out nurses' to the war.
