Mrs Patricia Lewis
Description
Mrs Patricia Lewis was born in India where her father was in the army. Shortly after Patricia's mother returned with Patricia and her brother, her husband died. Patricia's mother took a lodging house in Rogiet which at that time was major railway shunting area. The lodgers were 'double homers'. This meant they would travel from Swansea as stokers or drivers and need accommodation before working the return journey. Patricia had a very happy childhood in Rogiet being brought up and cared for by her widowed mother.
