Yvette was born and brought up in Basingstoke. Following her studies at Oxford Polytechnic and her Marriage to Gareth, they came to live in Caldicot where Gareth's parents lived. A regular church goer before coming Yvette joined the Methodist Church; of which she has been active member ever since. Yvette and Gareth decided to send their children to the Welsh language school as bilingual children do better in their studies and it may benefit their careers.
