Description
A black silk georgette cocktail dress, with gold and silver beaded embellishment. Beading was a key fashion theme in the 1920s, often applied to sheer and light fabrics. Many examples have not survived intact, due to the weight of the beads damaging the fabric.
This shows the typical straight shape and dropped waist of the period, with a scalloped hem reaching just below the knee.
