Born 1894. In 1911 living at Plas Meini with his brothers and sisters and widowed mother Joyce Anne Ellis (nee Cadwalader)
He was in Canada at outbreak of war. His attestation papers on joining up were signed at Niagara, Ontario on 1st July 1915. He was assigned to No 5 Field Ambulance and was killed at the battle of Vimi Ridge. His name appears on the Roll of Honour at the Eglwys Dewi Sant, Welsh United Church in Toronto. His name is also commemorated on a gravestone at Criccieth Cemetry:-
“ Gwywa y gwelltyn, syrth y blodeuon, Canys ysbryd yr Arglwydd a chwythodd arno”
