Attestation cert for William Humphrey Jones.Was born in Festiniog in 1890. His father was a miller and William spent his childhood at Tan y Bwlch mill near Maentwrog. His family moved to Criccieth to take over the bakery and shop at 31 Castle Street where William trained to be a baker. In 1914 he joined the King's Liverpool Regiment and served throughout the war attaining the rank of sergeant. When peace came he was transferred to the Labour Corps to be a guard at a POW camp in Dorchester. He was demobbed late in 1919 and he and his wife ran Castle Bakery for many years.
