Description: Woman knitting, wearing a Welsh hat, goffered cap, shawl tucked into her long-tailed gown; apron, skirt, red underskirt and boots.
Note: The women of Bala were famous for knitting in public during the 18th and early 19th centuries, especially on the remains of the Norman / Welsh castle mound.
It appears that someone has tried to clean this watercolour with a damp cloth.
