Title: GWISGIADAU CYMREIG. _ HOODS & CLOAKS. / Cardigane / Rock & Co. London. No. 14 / 1st May 1853
Description: Two women with Welsh hats, one with an umbrella; two with enormous hoods over tall hats, both with umbrellas; one on horseback. The background is a village street with a pig and a church tower vaguely similar to Rock and Co.’s Gwisgiadaw Cymreig_Mode of Carrying Infants (1853) The woman in the foreground is holding a book, possibly a prayer book or bible which might indicate that they are on their way to church (or chapel).
Note: Other versions of this print do not have a superscript e after Cardigan [for Cardiganshire]
