Description

Highgate, Llanystumdwy, was the childhood home of David Lloyd George from 1864 to 1880. Following the sudden death of his father in 1864, David Lloyd George came to Highgate, his mother's childhood home, to live with his mother's brother, Richard Lloyd or 'Uncle Lloyd'. The parlour has been recreated as closely as possible to how it would have looked when Lloyd George lived in the house, with the original desks, a picture of Abraham Lincoln on the wall, and a glass-fronted cupboard with the best china, jam pot and books.
