The background is a village street with a pig and a church tower vaguely similar to Rock and Co.’s Gwisgiadaw Cymreig_Mode of Carrying Infants (1853) The woman in the foreground is holding a book, possibly a prayer book or bible which might indicate that they are on their way to church (or chapel).
