Description

This photograph of 'Bopa' Lewis, born 22 August 1799, was taken on her one hundredth birthday, in 1899. She lived to be 102 and lived in Cowbridge. Photographed outside her cottage, in Llanbleddian.

"Her name was Jane Thomas before she married William Lewis in 1820 at Llanbleddian Church. She had three children - Caroline, Maria and John. Her granddaughter also lived until she was 101.
