On 7 April, Dr John Davies presented a cheque for £3,725 to the Reverend Joanne Penberthy, on behalf of the watching History Group called Talley History Hanes Talyllychau. The cheque had been awarded to the group by the lottery funded 'Awards For All Wales' to enable them to buy the necessary equipment to produce this archive. Before the presentation, Dr Davies gave a well researched, humerous, bilingual speech, which was very well appreciated by the group. Afterwards, he toured St Michael's Church and churchyard and Cwmdu Inn before meeting some of the Senior Citizens of Talley at the Edwinsford Arms Public House, where he enjoyed a good lunch.
