The Talley Players presented 'Cinderella' at the Edwinsford Arms on 13 January 2007.

Description

CINDERELLA
The fantasy world of pantomime came to Talley as the classic folk tale of Cinderella was brought to life at the Edwinsfordadium on 13th January. With the obligatory thigh slapping, singing, locally aimed quips and gender re-assignment a cast of over thirty performed to a full house.
Laura Walters as Buttons developed the interaction between audience and performers and the prompters were kept busy as the cast got into their characters and the story unfolded. Then a question arose - were Bethan and Stephanie Day enacting real life as the innocent kindly Cinderella and her nasty scheming Baroness Mother or was it just a good act? Jeanette Hughes and Peter Jones played Cinders horrid sisters, Salmonella and Listeria. They were obnoxious man hungry good for nothings chasing after Pick & Mix (you had to be there) at every opportunity. Another good performance or a true to life enactment - you decide.
With a family like hers, poor Cinders needed all the help she could get from not one but two Fairy Godmothers, Fairy Liquid and trainee Fairy Nuff. She certainly got it as she eventually won the hand of her Prince Charming (Gethyn Williams) and all was well. There were some good (some brave) solos and duets throughout the show but Heledd and Ffion Thomas produced the best singing I have ever heard in a pub.
Throughout the performance, Gillian Thomas and Dafydd Roberts supplied the musical accompaniment and audio effects whilst the many children of the Panto Babes, Soapsuds and Woodsmen made a big contribution to the show. The standard of costumes was superb and the numerous costume changes reflect the huge effort put in by many people to create the show.
During the interval, the lengthy queue at the bar and choc-ices was reminiscent of grander venues and a generously stocked raffle boosted the ticket sales to raise funds for the Joshua Foundation. Special thanks have to go to Stephanie for her efforts in recruiting, encouraging and maybe occasionally coercing the cast and supporting crew into creating a truly memorable evening for the local community.
CINDERELLA
Daeth y byd pantomeim rhyfedd i Dalyllychau pan roedd Cinderella - stori werin glasur - yn perfformio yn y Edwinsfordarium ar 13eg mis Ionawr. Perfformiodd mwy na thri deg person mewn t? llawn, gyda jôcs, canu, gwisgo-croes, a hwyl.
Jôcodd Laura Walters (Buttons) gyda'r gynulleidfa a'r perfformwyr a roedd y helpwyr yn prysur pan dechreuodd y ddrama a ddaeth yr actorion ar y llwyfan. Wedyn daeth cwestion - oedd Bethan a Stephanie Day mor garedig â Cinderella a mor gas â'r Baroness ei mam hi yn wir, neu oedden nhw'n dim ond actio? Chwaraeodd Jeanette Hughes a Peter Jones chwiorydd ofnadwy Cinders, Salmonella a Listeria. Roedden nhw'n diddefnydd ac ofnadwy a rhedon nhw ar ôl Pick a Mix tro'r amser. Fel Bethan a Stephanie, ydy e'n wir, neu dim ond actio? Ydych chi'n gallu penderfynu!?
Gyda teulu fel ei theulu hi, roedd rhaid i Cinders cael llawer o help o'r dau o Fairy Godmothers, Fairy Liquid a ddysgwyr Fairy Nuff. Gyda eu help, enillodd hi'r llaw o Prince Charming (Gethyn Williams) a roedd popeth yn dda. Roedd rhai canu da trwy'r sioe, ond Heledd a Ffion Thomas oedd y cantoresau gorau fy mod i wedi clywed yn y dafarn. Trwy'r perfformiad, chwaraeodd Gillian Thomas y piano a Dafydd Roberts y drymiau. Roedd pawb y plant yn y Panto Babes, Soapsuds, a Woodsmen yn cyfrannu yn fawr iawn at y sioe.Roedd y gwisgoedd yn ardderchog iawn, a roedd llawer o bobl yn helpu creu'r sioe.
Dros y egwyl, roedd llawer o bobl eisiau prynu diodydd a hufen ia, fel yn y theatr mawr, a roedd llawer o wobrau am y raffl codi arian am y Joshua Foundation. Diolch yn fawr iawn i Stephanie am ffeindio a helpu y actorion a griw creu noson cofiadwy am y gymuned lleol.
