Street theatre protest Cathays
Description
Women formed a Street Theatre group to protest about proposed changes to the form that doctors had to submit to affirm that a woman met the criteria for abortion laid down in the Abortion Act 1967.
The women had prepared in the Women’s Centre, Coburn Street, Cathays, and the photograph shows them walking over the railway bridge between Cathays and Cathays Park, on their way to the Welsh Office. Inscription on the reverse of the photo reads: Sue Hayes and Megan [Davies] February 1982 N.A.C. [National Abortion Campaign] - Day of Action. Megan Davies contributed an oral history interview to the Safe & Legal Project.
