I used to walk from our home in Murch Road, Dinas Powis, up Murch Lane, to the church with my Auntie Win (Winifred Riden) in order to attend Sunday service there. I suppose this would have have been from the mid-1950's on. On one occasion, I remember that I expressed a desire to ring the church bell. It was a single bell with the rope inside the church at the rear. I suppose that I became a little too enthusiastic and the rope (the "Sally") was dislodged from its sheave on the second or third pull. Silence ensued both outside and inside the church! Some remarks, which I don't think are written within the good book echoed around the congregation ; I don't believe I went back again!
