Brynfab was born 1849 at Ffarch Aman Farm Aberdare. Later he farmed at Hendre Farm Eglwysilan. he spent many years competing and winning in Eisteddfods. he was also a member of the Gorseddd. After retiring he moved to St Athan ahere he died in 1927. he married twice and had 7 children.
