The water wheel of the Garnant Colliery which was also known as Pwll Perkins.

1884, Pwll y Garnant pit [Pwll Perkins], believed to be the oldest pit in the area and where occurred the worst accident in the district ever, when the rope broke at the end of the morning on January 16, 1884, and ten lives were lost.
