Description

Flannel 'betgwn' or bedgown featuring red and black vertical stripes. Sleeves half-lined with black taffeta. Turned-back cuffs. The bodice appears to have been constructed from scraps of cloth. Two decorative covered buttons have been used at the back of waistband.
The cream flannel petticoat or underskirt which also appears features hand-embroidered pink flowers and scalloped edge. It has been extensively repaired by its owner.
