Stone axes found at Corndon Hill, near Churchstoke

Description

These items come from a picrite outcrop at Cwm Mawr, on the south side of Corndon Hill, which was the source of raw material for stone tools from c. 1650-1250 BC. Tools of this material have been found in the West Midlands, mid Wales, Devon and Yorkshire. These two axes are an axe-hammer and an unfinished battle-axe.
