Dining room, Judge's Lodging, Presteigne

Description

This room was used for Judge's Dinners, Militia Dinners and other official functions. Dining rooms such as this were intended to convey masculine grandeur and were often painted red. They were lit only by beeswax candles, since gas and oil lamps were believed to taint food.
