Engraving of Thomas Burgess (1756-1837) by Thomson, 1825

Description

Thomas Burgess (1756-1837) was the founder of St David's College, Lampeter. He was the Bishop of St David's from 1803 to 1825, and of Salisbury from 1825 until his death.

Beneath the engraving is a small window displaying his personal signature 'Thomas Burgess', and the printed words 'London. Pubd for the Proprietors of the European Mag. by Sherwood, Jones & Co. Paternoster Row. May, 1825'.
