Ysgol Moelfre a Mynyddoedd John Piper.ibooks

Ysgol Moelfre came to Oriel Ynys Mon to see John Piper's work on display.

While they were there, they created their own versions of the paintings. John Piper was inspired by the mountains of Snowdonia, and in the 1940s and 50s he rented a cottage to use as a base to explore and paint his surroundings.

Click on the links to the images to see the paintings, and an image of the painting in front of the original that inspired it. Ysgol Moelfre's work is also in the iBook. You can see digitised versions of John piper's paintings by clicking on the collection. There is also a link to Ysgol Bodedern's artwork, and a workshop with Ysgol Foel Gron and Ysgol Llanbedrog also inspired by John Piper and a link to the resource John Piper - The Mountains of Wales.

digital tasks to do in the classroom

Create and Art Collection: upload your artwork and create a collection. You can link it to an artist or artwork on the website as the copyright is cleared under the creative archive license. Discuss with your learners why you wouldn't be able to visit a gallery and upload images of an artist's work without their permission, to develop an understanding of the Citizenship strand of the Digital Competence Framework.
