This artwork was created by Ysgol Foel Gron and Ysgol Llanberdrog. They came to Plas Glyn y Weddw to work with Amgueddfa Cymru to create sketches inspired by the work of John Piper. Also, they wrote a poem with the help of Twm Morys. Images of their day and work can also be seen in the attached iBook.

They went out into the grounds to create sketches, just like John piper used to do. John Piper would sketch in the open air, before returning to his studio to paint the mountains of Snowdonia. When wondering around the grounds, they would stop and draw what they saw around them, beneath their feet and above their heads.

digital tasks to do in the classroom

Create a Collection of Artwork: create a sketch or painting, or write a poem, and upload on to the website. You can then create a collection or story.

Art Trail: if you too sketch in the open air, create a trail of the locations by adding your images on to a map.

For help on creating collections or trails, and on forming projects, visit the teaching toolbox.
