Walking this trail
Turn off A48 down Primrose Hill and take left up the old Roman Road leading you on to the Downs.
Spectacular views of the Vale and the Channel at the top of the old Roman Road where there is a wooded triangle. It is said locally that convicts were hung in these woods in the dark ages.
Gentle incline up the old Roman Road, can be boggy after wet weather and the road is uneven as it has been unkept since WW2 when the US Military camp occupied the large field area at the top.
