Log Book Entry 7/2/2018
Items in this story:
We were exploring the school and naming the different buildings. We found our way to the attic. The attic is in the highest part of the Uchelder building, the name of that part of our school. We got the key to a locked room in the attic. In the room we found a book that said log book on its spine. We thought it might be a diary of someone who used to be in the model school or something to do with history. We took the book and went to our work room and opened the book. The handwriting was really small. It was a school record book. Some dates went back to 18 something. It was very old. There were laminated copies of older pages. These were Victorian. On one of the pages it said that the school had had half a day off to go to the circus!
The book recorded all the things that had happened in the school, how the school had changed and which teachers were teaching. We discovered that Mrs Hughes who is one of our teachers now was a supply teacher at the old Model School in 1986. Mrs Jones was only one at the time!! We also found an entry for the day that the old Model School closed to move to the current site. The head teacher wished everyone happiness and success on the new site.
