Changing The Focus

Changing The Focus is a film project exploring the on-screen representation of people with learning disabilities in Britain, and the extent to which this representation (and the role of people with learning disabilities in society) has changed over the past 50 years. As part of the project, a 20 minute-long film was made, featuring a group of adults with learning disabilities telling their own stories. The film was screened around Wales, accompanied by a series of workshops, where people of all ages and abilities were encouraged to make their own stories. Changing The Focus was a project run by Disability Arts Cymru, and was made possible with funding from Ffilm Cymru and Heritage Lottery Fund.
