Legacy of Longfields

A Heritage Lottery funded project to examine and share the history of Longfields Association.  The organisation was set up in 1952 by a group of parents of children with cerebral palsy for whom there was little or no provision for education.  At its inception it was known as Swansea and District Spastic Association.  The project will recognise and showcase the part that Longfields played in the social history of Swansea and in disability history and will acknowledge the actions and hard work undertaken by the Association's founders.
