About
Holyhead Maritime Museum is situated at Newry Beach, Holyhead, Anglesey, LL65 1YD. The location is a lifeboat station built in 1857 and believed to be the oldest in Wales. It was established in 1984 and has been in its present location since 1998. We are a fully accredited museum that tells the story of Holyhead and its maritime heritage covering many centuries and includes many interesting artefacts, photographs and ship models. Alongside the main museum is a WW2 Air Raid Shelter housing a comprehensive collection of artefacts from both world wars.
The museum includes a popular onsite restaurant, the Harbourfront Bistro.
We open from Easter to the end of October from 10.00am-4.00pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
