In industrial communities, mining is an important part of people's lives and a great topic for reminiscence work. If you would like to see more images like this, the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales has a fantastic collection of illustrations and street scenes of industrial Wales in the Falcon Hildred Archive as well as a great series of underground, surface and people photographs of collieries from the 1970s and early 1980s in the John Cornwell Collection.
