Jim Jones - British Army National Service 1960

This collection relates to Mr Jim Jones, of Aberystwyth. Jim grew up in Bala, North Wales and was conscripted into the Royal Army Pay Corps in the summer of 1960. Jim had an unfortunate accident on the parade ground at Devizes barracks during basic training. This resulted in him sustaining a serious leg injury and shortly after he was medically discharged from the Army. Although his service was brief, it was eventful and of significant heritage value for those seeking to understand the National Service experience from a Welsh perspective.
