The Welsh Highland Railway, Snowdonia
The Welsh Highland Railway opened in 1923, formed from several much older railways. In 1997, work started on the Welsh Highland Railway Project to restore the line. Completed in 2009, Caernarfon is now linked to Porthmadog through the landscape of Snowdonia.
