Castell Cynfael, Bryncrug, Tywyn
Located on a spur of a hillside, some 2 miles from Bryncrug and cut off from the hillside by the excavation of a defensive ditch. The castle of the motte and bailey type was built by Cadwaladr ap Gruffudd in 1147 (brother of Owain Gwynedd).
