The life of Farmyards
All across Wales, farm yards and their buildings are an important part of the character of the landscape. What was typical of past generations is now becoming scarce, for example, all ages of a family having a range of jobs to do, from milking to collecting eggs.The life of a farm was centred around the farmyard.
Many traditional farm buildings have become redundant through increasing mechanization and large-scale farming but where small-scale farming continues, or where diversification is appropriate, traditional farmyard buildings can be an asset ready for re-use.
