The earliest television memory of this interviewee is watching the Coronation and learning the anthem. He discusses Tryweryn and the protests, and the effect Tryweryn had on Plaid Cymru. He remembers the emotion as Cliff Mitchelmore broadcast from Aberfan and he talks about the effect of the images on him and on south Wales generally - he feels that the unpleasantness lasted a long time after the disaster. The Investiture and George Thomas' part in the celebration is discussed, his awareness of the protests against the Investiture, and the positive effect of the ceremony on Caernarfon and tourism. He speaks of the effect of broadcasting Rugby in the 70s - from the positive side it has brought the game to everybody and has stimulated forming clubs, on the other hand he feels that broadcasting has had a negative effect on the sales of tickets to the matches. He talks of seeing live matches and then watching them again on television to see exactly what happened. He talks of the national pride which came following the success of a team from a small country against the best in the world. The success of the government in broadcasting its propaganda is commented on as he discusses the Miners' Strike. He also refers to watching S4C though he is not a Welsh speaker.
