Maureen Fletcher

The two royal events get attention in this interview - the Coronation and the Investiture. On television she remembers the wonderful singing during the Coronation ceremony, while during the Investiture she was worried that something would disturb the occasion as not everyone was supportive of the idea that an Englishman would be invested Prince of Wales. She remembers the pictures of Aberfan as well, the atrocity and seeing people digging with their hands for the children. She remembers the Queen visiting the village. She talks of the Miners' Strike and the lack of support for it generally from the media.
