The Coronation is the earliest memory of television of this guest and he remembers the feeling of being proud to be British. He also remembers buying souvenirs to remember the occasion. He speaks of his use of television to relax whilst working; since retiring he watches less television and reads more. The two devolution referendums are discussed and Neil Kinnock's leadership in 79. He thinks the Carmarthen result may have been held back deliberately in 97, and then his opinion on devolution generally is discussed. He says that 9/11 and seeing rugby players in the 1970s have made the biggest impression on him. He states his liking for sports and drama programmes.
